曼高娃在 2007 年獲得比利時伊莉莎白女王國際鋼琴大賽的第二名,就此展開其國際職業演奏生涯。她就讀於保加利亞的蘇菲亞音樂院,向卡帕琴絲卡雅( Marina Kapatsinskaya )學琴,之後到馬德里向巴許基洛夫( Dmitri Bashkirov )學習。她在比利時最崇高的伊莉莎白女王音樂院與鋼琴家艾爾巴夏共事,同時也受到富萊雪、杜蕾克、齊瑪曼、席夫等鋼琴家的指導。
曼高娃與許多國際知名的管弦樂團合作,包括鹿特丹愛樂、法國廣播愛樂交響樂團、比利時國立管弦樂團、歐盟室內樂團、 BBC 愛樂、多靈諾 RAI 管弦樂團、莫斯科柴可夫斯基交響樂團、英國室內樂團、瓦索維亞交響樂團、保加利亞廣播管弦樂團、盧森堡愛樂、聖彼得堡管弦樂團、萊比錫 MDR 愛樂、 RTVE 交響樂團、尼德蘭廣播室內愛樂、東京愛樂、韋爾比亞節慶管弦樂團。合作的指揮包括柯林・戴維斯爵士、安德魯・戴維斯爵士、韋勒、茲威登、尤洛夫斯基、吉博・瓦格、卡薩德修、波密耶等人。曼高娃相當鍾愛室內樂,合作過的音樂家包括鋼琴家皮耶絲、貝瑞佐夫斯基、小提琴家杜梅、大提琴家王健、克尼亞瑟夫、易沙意四重奏等等。

曼高娃的第一張 CD 灌錄蕭士塔高維契作品,獲得了金叉獎 2007 年年度錄音的肯定,之後她與女高音梅妮申柯、小提琴家皮瑟朋柯、大提琴克林格合作的錄音,獲得了 Pizzicato 雜誌的年度錄音肯定。她的貝多芬錄音在法國獲得極高讚譽,而之後她也灌錄了理查・史特勞斯的詼諧曲,以及布拉姆斯的第一號鋼琴協奏曲錄音,在留聲機雜誌獲得高度評價。近來她與克尼亞瑟夫發行一張法朗克與易沙意的專輯,也深獲歐陸古典樂評界的青睞。

Plamena Mangova won second prize in the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2007 and embarked on an international career. Her initial studies were with Marina Kapatsinskaya at the Pancho Vladigerov Sofia State Music Academy in Bulgaria and then at the Queen Sofia Higher Music School, Madrid with the eminent teacher Dmitri Bashkirov. She has also worked with Abdel-Rahman El Bacha at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium and received the advice of renowned musicians such as Leon Fleisher, Rosalyn Tureck, Krystian Zimerman and Andras Schiff. She is a Laureate of various prestigious international piano and chamber music competitions, including “Paloma O’Shea” in Santander and “Vittorio Gui” in Florence, as well as the Juventus Festival in France.
Plamena performs with leading orchestras, such as the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, National Orchestra of Belgium, European Union Chamber Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, RAI Torino Orchestra, Moscow Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Bulgarian Radio Orchestra, Luxembourg Philharmonic, St Petersburg Orchestra, MDR Orchester Leipzig, RTVE Symphony Orchestra, Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic, Tokyo Philharmonic, Verbier Festival Orchestra... Conductor collaborations include Sir Colin Davis, Sir Andrew Davis, Emmanuel Krivine, Walter Weller, Tadaaki Otaka, Jaap van Zweden, Dmitri Jurowski, Karl Heinz Steffens, Gilbert Varga, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Jean-Bernard Pommier and François-Xavier Roth. A keen chamber music player, she has performed with Maria Joao Pires, Boris Berezovsky, Augustin Dumay, Mihaela Martin, Jian Wang, Pascal Moragues, Alexei Ogrintchouk, Alexander Kniazev, Frans Helmerson and the Ysaye String Quartet among others.
Plamena has performed at the Berlin Philharmonie, BOZAR Brussels, Suntory Hall Tokyo, Kennedy Center Washington and Concertgebouw Amsterdam (“Carte Blanche for Maxim Vengerov”), South Bank Center London, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Moscow Conservatory concert hall, St Petersburg Philharmonic, Luxembourg Philharmonie, Arsenal de Metz, Théâtre du Châtelet, Théâtre des Champs Elysées and Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, Sala Verdi Milan and at major festivals such as Progetto Martha Argerich Lugano, Verbier Academy, La Folle Journée Nantes and Tokyo, La Roque d'Anthéron, Rostropovich Festival in Baku, Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival, Santander, Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, Montpellier Radio France Festival, Festival de Menton, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Bach Akademie Stuttgart.
Her first solo CD recording (Shostakovich) was awarded a “Diapason d'Or de l'Année 2007”. A chamber music disc by the same composer followed with soprano Tatiana Melnychenko, violinist Natalia Prischepenko (leader of the Artemis Quartet) and cellist Sebastian Klinger (Bavarian Radio Orchestra), which was awarded the Superfonic Prize in Pizzicato magazine. Her Beethoven disc (sponsored by the Belgian Bank Fortis), was highly praised by France Musique and Diapason, as were her exceptional recordings of Strauss' Burleske (2008) and Brahms Piano Concerto No.1 (2010) with the Belgium National Orchestra and Walter Weller (Fuga Libera label). The latter was highly praised by Bryce Morrison in Gramophone magazine. The last CD, highly praised too, was recorded with the cellist Alexander Kniazev and dedicated to Franck and Ysaÿe.
Recent highlights have included her debut with the Rotterdam Philharmonic under Sir Andrew Davis and Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, a recital at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées Paris and her debut at Wigmore Hall London. In the 2013/14 season, Plamena performs with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France/Myung-Whun Chung in Moscow at the Rostropovich Festival, Orquesta Clasica Santa Cecilia/Vladimir Fedoseyev at the Auditorio Nacional de Musica Madrid, Taipei Symphony Orchestra/Jean-Claude Casadesus, New Zealand Symphony/Julian Kuerti, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra/Walter Weller... She gives recitals at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Vilnius National Philharmonic Hall, Riga Great Guild Hall, Salle Molière of Lyon (Festival Piano à Lyon), and performs chamber music concerts with her partners at Bonn Beethovenhaus and Munich Herkulesaal, Paris Auditorium du Louvre and Konzerthaus Vienna, among others.
